Limestone Planters
WEATHERED STONE. MONUMENTAL FORM.
These one-off limestone planters are defined by scale, surface and age. Worn rims, softened edges, mineral markings and deep variation give each vessel its own presence.
Some are squat and heavy. Others tall, rounded or almost architectural in proportion. Their surfaces move between chalky stone, warmer earth tones and darker mineral staining, with the irregularity and patina that come from years of exposure.
Planted, they become part vessel, part sculpture, where stone and living form meet.
Left empty, they hold their own as objects.

About Modern Primitive
About Modern Primitive
Empire’s collection of found-and-restored pieces sourced through our travels across the Indonesian archipelago, from villages and workshops to libraries, train stations and everyday places.
Many began life as working pieces shaped by daily rituals, traditional practices and generations of use, before being restored through our network of traditional artisans.
Imperfect. Honest. Individual.
